Gaggia Espresso Machines
Gaggia is an Italian coffee machine manufacturer founded by Giovanni Achille Gaggia, who was born in Milan back in 1895. There are legends of how Giovanni Gaggia came up with the idea of making coffee machines. The stories vary from him developing a coffee brewer using a lever piston mechanism and others where Gaggia bought the idea from the original inventor's wife (Rosetta Scorza) and after some tweaking and improvements, he managed to design a successful coffee machine which makes what we now call Espresso! The actual company Gaggia was set up in 1948 and was known, initially, for producing commerical machines. They then expanded their business by introducing the first espresso machine for private home use. The machines are still made in Gaggia's hometown of Milan. The company manufacturers a variety of espresso machines from old-fashioned manual machines to state-of-the-art automatic machines.
